We have an amazing set of Artist of The Month this year. Every single of them was chosen by you. Now let's review all of them back...
June: Miley Cyrus
It was a very roller coaster year for Cyrus. First, she star in her first movie excluding Hannah Montana. Then, she shoot her last season of Hannah montana and she also appear as a mentor on American Idol. She also have to fight against all those controversies, her parents divorces and also her own breaking up. That's enough is a rocky year than she put more icing on top by releasing the very mature, Can't Be Tamed. From the first track till the last, the album is an auto-tune fiesta. Even the ballads are robotic. But in all, some may call it generic and unfocused, I call it pop rock perfection.

July: M.I.A.
She may not create a lot of buzz in mainstream but this chick knows how to mix tracks. M.I.A. released Maya, her second studio album on July on her own record label, N.E.E.T. Recordings with divided reviews. The album's tracks centre on the theme of information politics and are intended to evoke what M.I.A. called a "digital ruckus". She promote the album by releasing a few number of digital singles including, "Born Free", which generated controversy due to its graphically violent music video. In overall, M.I.A. have gone along way and more is still to come.

August: Katy Perry
It is clear that Katy Perry is having her best year. From her Indian Marriage to her Pink California Dream album, Teenage Dream. She proves she no one hit wonder by releasing California Gurls that featured the smooth rap by Snoop Dogg. The single became her best single ever and many calling it the Summer Song of The Year. Then she release the tittle track that was as addicting as Gurls and scored her third no. 1. The album was released in late summer and in Fall the third single, Firework was released (fourth no. 1) with a fourth single, ET plan to be release on 2011. In December, it was announced that Teenage Dream was nominated for Album of The Year in the 2011 Grammy Awards.

September: Selena Gomez & The Scene
Selena is creaping her way up away from Miley's shadow. This year was good year for Selena. She star in her first main role in a theatrical movie release. She scores good reviews for her acting but the movie only did moderately well commercially. Musically, she scores her first hit single, Naturally that reached the million mark and was certified platinum. Then she release along with her band, A Year Without Rain that incorporate electropop, dancehall and techno. The band was more involved in the album as Joey Clement & Dane Forrest sang most of the back-up vocals. Like her movie, the album was received well by critics but lay flat on commercial.

October: Taylor Swift
Doesn't matter with curly or straight hair, Taylor Swift is the clear queen of 2010. She started 2010 by winning Album of The Year with her second studio album, Fearless at the 2010 Grammys. She keeps on surprisong people with her debut movie acting role in Valentine's Day. Though the reviews were not good at least she got a good hit from it, Today Was A Fairytale. She remains quiet during the summer to finish up her tour and her third studio album, Speak Now. When the album was release, despite the year low album sales, she manages to sell more than a million in the first week. The second single, Back To December have been release and is expecting to have big Winter Airplay. She is know, prepping for her upcoming world tour that will kicks off in Singapore next year.

November: Rihanna
After a shaky year, Rihanna made her comeback with her 2010 album, Loud. Before that, she have one of the best singles of the Summer by teaming up with Eminem for the multiple Grammy nominated song, Love The Way You Lie. She continued the single flare by making a part 2 for the song and making it the last track of Loud. In the album, Rihanna brings in more of the Barbados flavor and mix it into a solid pop dance album. The album is the kind of album that need multiple listens before you get into the feel of it. Only Girl was released in early fall, and went straight to no. 1. She keeps the flow coming with the second single that features Drake, What's My Name that also bows at no. 1 and is on the verge to be back at top. Overall, 2010 was a LOUD year for Rihanna. And She is back in her game.

December: Natasha Bedingfield
Bedingfield didn't actually grip 2010 like the other Artist of The Month but on a slow Winter month, she is the best that fits. Before the album, she release a teaser single, Touch in May. Then, she released her latest album, Strip Me just a few weeks ago and her first official single is still trying to climb into top 40. The album review were above average with critics calling it "playing safe".

Many call 2010 is the year of POP. I 100% agree with this. We slowly climbing into a new era of music where dance pop rules, and 2011 will be a very great year with releases by GaGa, Britney, Beyonce & Avril Lavigne. Cheers for another year of POP.
And Merry Christmas everybody!!!
[I Don't Mind Being Thanks]
